Rome, Italy

Rome was the last stop on our 14 day vacation in Europe and it went by so fast that if I hadn’t talked to my dad the night before our flight I think we would have missed it.

There was so much to see and do in Rome that six days was not enough! The second day we toured the Vatican, Sistine chapel, St. Peter's Basilica, Trevi Fountain, Castel Sant'Angelo, Piazza dei Tribunali, Ara Pacis, Piazza del Popolo and walked the Fiume Tevere river.

We took a two day mini vacation to Torvaianica and stayed in a hotel on the Mediterranean Sea; we were definitely outside the tourist zone. We enjoyed a restful day on the beach and our night was filled with  beach music so loud we switched rooms in the middle of the night.

On our last day we took an administrative tour of the Colosseum and were able to tour the bottom where the gladiators were kept and actually stood on the same ground they did. We spent our last night in Rome eating delicious pasta and sipping on limoncello being thankful for a wonderful trip.
